Collegiate Dance Clinic

Inviting all high school and college students interested in taking a Collegiate Dance Clinic with the Georgia Southern Dance Team!

This class will consist of a warm up, across the floor technique, spirit dance, lyrical dance combo, and a Q&A with Dance Team members, Head Coach, Kendall Burrell., and Assistant Coach, Rebekah Leger.

Date: Saturday, March 1, 2025

Time: 9:00 am - 11:30 am.

Location: Grube Recreation Activity Center (2687 Akins Blvd, Statesboro, GA 30458)

Lead by: Head Coach, Kendall Burrell and Assistant Coach, Rebekah Leger

Ages: 14-21

Dance/Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced

Price: $45

*This clinic also provides an opportunity to receive a pass to the final round of Team Auditions (in-person attendance ONLY).

will prompt you to pay the registration fee. You must be

registered and payment received in full prior to

the day of the clinic.

Attire:

  • Black Shorts or Leggings

  • Black Sports Bra or Cropped Top

  • Hair in a Slicked Back Pony Tail or bun

  • Jazz Shoes/Pirouettes

  • Tennis Shoes

  • Earring studs are allowed, but no other jewelry is permitted


Make sure to bring water and a snack!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT AUDITIONS

Where will auditions be held?
Auditions are held at Georgia Southern's recreational activities center (RAC), located at 2687 Bunny Akins boulevard, Statesboro, GA 30458. Please arrive at the registration time for processing, and personal stretching.

 

What do I need to bring to auditions and/or Prep Clinics?
Make sure to bring a water bottle and a snack and your dance shoes (jazz shoes and/or pirouettes/lyrical shoes, and if you prefer, you can wear tennis shoes during any hip hop routines).

Will auditions be open to the public?
Auditions will be closed to the public.

 

Do current team members have to re-audition?
Yes, all returning members must go through the audition process each season. No spots on the team are guaranteed.

What does it take to make the Georgia Southern Dance Team?

Dance technique and skills, being versatile in jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and pom styles, punctuality, showmanship, enthusiasm, showcasing your true blue spirit, maintaining physical fitness, personal appearance, and always being a team player. 

​

What is the time commitment?
The time commitment usually consists of approximately 6-8 hours each week for practice, and will increase during the middle of basketball season as well as preparation for the Dance Team Union College Classic competition. Dancing for Georgia Southern will be a priority over all social and Greek commitments.
